In the unfortunate event of a breach, standard operating procedures dictate that the first step should be rotating admin passwords. By default, TechIDManager rotates admin passwords every 24 hours. However, if an immediate rotation is needed, you can manually trigger a forced password reset.
Technicians can do this by right-clicking their account in the tech client and selecting Forced Password Rotation. Within 60 seconds, their password will be updated. The new, encrypted password is then securely delivered using end-to-end encryption, ensuring that even we cannot access it.
For managers needing to rotate all passwords at a specific site, this can be done through the management console. Simply select the site, go to its details, scroll down, and choose Forced Password Rotation. After confirming, all technician passwords at that site will be updated within 60 seconds.
This feature was added based on partner requests to help quickly mitigate breaches and restore account security.
