TechIDAgent.Windows 6.041

TechIDAgent.Windows 6.041 (formerly known as DomainService) is available . Changes for this release … many (That’s a reference to the “number of weapons found … many” line in the Ultra Violet movie). This is the first pre-release under the 6.0 version and naming. 6.0 of TechIDManager includes “many” changes.

Changes for this release include: 

    1. Renamed from DomainService to TechIDAgent.Windows. 
      1. The exe changed from DomainService.exe to TechIDAgent.exe
      2. Command line options remain the same
    2. Options can be set from the TechIDPortal.
      1. Once an instance is running, all options can be set from TechIDPortal.
      2. Instances must be created locally (this will change soon). 
    3. Addition of an option to use Passwords made from a word list (original style of fully random passwords is still the default)
      1. New command line to enable word based passwords
      2. New command line to set number of words
      3. Management Console editing of word list
    4. Force Password Rotation
    5. GuaranteedRight – This allows a right (or rights) to be always assigned by a PAM agent to all the accounts it manages. Think “Protected Users” group in AD. 
    6. Addition of Scheduled Task to ensure DomainService is running.
    7. Logging changes.
      1. Rolling log files.
      2. Compressing older log files.
      3. Deleting much older log files.
    8. Fixed logic with “show” DomainPrivateKey on default instance was inverted.
    9. Beginnings of options setting from Management Console.
    10. Removed command line help – seriously, did you ever read it?
    11. Faster run on version, or option, change.
    12. Added default username for non default PAM instances.
    13. Added support for force password rotation from Management Console and TechClient
    14. Default all instances to “RunAfterMiss”
    15. Internal JSON parser changes. 
    16. “sysprep” commandline to prepare a system for cloning
    17. Install Scripts are signed to ease their use, if you don’t change them. If you change them, you will need to remove the signature at the bottom, or sign them yourself. 
    18. Fixed bug in 5.542 that was causing performance issues.

This release requires TechClient 4.030 or newer for JIT to work.
