Local Admin Account management with TechIdManager

TechIdManager has always been able to manage local accounts on non-domain joined machines, and domain accounts when run on a domain controller. New with version 2.28 is an option to manage local accounts when the DomainService is run on a domain joined machine. This is accomplished with the “local” option when installing the DomainService on a machine. The “nonlocal” option tells the DomainService to figure out what to do.

To manage Domain Accounts on a domain controller run the DomainService without putting “local” or with putting “nonlocal” on the command line when installing or changing options.

To mange Local Accounts on a domain joined computer run the DomainService with putting “local” on the command line when installing or changing options. (this can be done on a Domain Controller, but then it ONLY manages local accounts)

To mange Local Accounts on a non-domain joined computer run the DomainService with putting “local” or with putting “nonlocal” on the command line when installing or changing options.
