TechIDManager Guide: Credential Sending in VSA Live Connect

If you use TechIDManager with Kaseya VSA Live Connect and your credentials fail to send, you’re not alone. Several technicians reported a situation where they select “Send Credential,” wait for the countdown, and then… nothing happens. It seemed random until we got our hands on a copy of VSA live connect to test with. Fortunately, there’s a quick fix that gets you back to logging in smoothly.

The Problem: Remote Keyboard Setting

The problem typically comes from the keyboard setting. By default, it may be set to Remote, which prevents TechIDManager from pushing credentials through as expected.

The Fix

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

1
In the Live Connect session, look at the keyboard control box near the top of the screen
2
You’ll see an option labeled Local / Remote Keyboard
3
Change the setting from Remote to Local
4
Attempt to send the credential again

Once this adjustment is made, credentials will transmit properly, and you should be able to log in without any further problems.

Notes

  • The Local/Remote keyboard setting doesn’t seem to affect much else, but it does matter for credential sending.
